Nathan Hancock was appointed as CEO of Citrus Australia in late 2017 and immediately took the lead in new initiatives in expanding market access and strengthening biosecurity for the Australian citrus industry. He was recognised for his leadership and representation of the citrus industry during the citrus canker outbreak in 2017 and subsequent recovery efforts. Before taking the reins as CEO, Nathan drove change in industry addressing issues such as fruit immaturity, ultimately implementing a new national maturity standard. Nathan developed an online data collation system for plantings and improved industry statistics, including the citrus tree census, national plantings database, and production forecast model. Nathan’s networks extend across the national production base and supply chain to markets across the world, he’s a passionate advocate for the industry and has developed a small but dynamic team that is recognised for their quality output and achievements.
